Stories Of People Of Agra - Kanupriya Bhaghat

Stories Of People Of Agra - Kanupriya bhaghat

Even if you live in a city completely dissociated and distanced from farming, you most definitely know that it needs soil for growth!
Well not anymore.. introducing the very first soilless farm for Agra - H2Organics.

Today we spoke to Kanupriya to understand how its done -

Illnesses and diseases shatters you and changes anyone's life immensely but one of the major changes it brought to kanupriya’s life was her thoughts on clean food and its availability.
"When my mother was diagnosed with cancer,  that is when I started reading about fresh food and its effect on our health. My understanding expanded widely on this subject when I started looking at it from a holistic living perspective. How does clean food actually help you feel good and recover faster. I simply wanted to re-introduce locals to the basic of living i.e. fresh and clean food”.
It has been two and a half years today and what Kanupriya Bhagat is doing is nothing less than magic to some. She was interested in hydroponics from the beginning and always wanted to do something for fresh food. But as she points out, "You will easily find greenhouses in cities like Noida and Delhi ,but it is a bit difficult in Agra as the raw materials are not readily availible.”

After much support from her family and tutors, H2Organics ground work started in 2019.  But as luck would have it, like the whole world , this project was also stalled till 2020 due to COVID-19.
Finally the first produce was available from October 6th, 2020 that had all the leafy greens growing without soil, pest, pesticides or anything harmful.
Instead of soil, she used cocopeat/coconut husk. “Its completely biodegradable and provides no nutrition to the plant. We simply use it to support the plant and the nutrition solution does all the work”.

"And I try my best to deliver the produce without 2-3 hours from the time of harvest, making it a typical farm-to-table concept. Most of our products also go with their roots as they can stay fresh for longer and also have very high nutritional content. Making it extremely healthy and fresh”

In hydroponic system roots don't need to spread because water and nutrients are delivered right to them. Traditional farming uses so much water because so much of it is lost..water evaporates , rolls away and gets absorbed by the ground, making most of it unusable..that's a lot of waste ! Hydroponic system use about 10 times less water because it's  delivered in a controlled way only when plants actually need it!

This is our attempt at bringing you a story around clean and fresh food…

Syed Faiz Ali Shah, the 40th descendant of Hazrat Muhammad ( PBHM) .  He has substantially followed the legacy of his ancestors in carrying forward the essence of sufism. Sufism is as old as several other diverse cultures prevalent in the City Of Taj - Agra. It is an ancient culture that is still followed by religious people with devotion. He told us the articulate insight of sufism, the core of which is Tasawwuf - "raah jo apne sudhar aur adhyatm ki taraf le jaye" meaning "a path that leads to our betterment". He then narrated about the durgah of Hazrat Amjad Ali Shah Azhar Akbarabadi and Maikash Akbarabadi (1902-1993).
