For most of us our name is a thing permanent to our existence but not for Erum Or as she likes to call herself now Atmiye. 

Today let us introduce you to Atmiye Erum an enthusiastic, dynamic change maker who can't confined herself in one identity. A Biotechnologist who widely express herself in creativity like painting, dance, music and literature specifically poetry writing etc. She describes herself as a big winged creature. 


Apart from a brief stint at  professional content writing, radio and teaching she is the founder of
" JOURNEY TO ROOTS society". 

One of her first initiative she associated herself with a bunch of friend in the city was" GO GET GARBAGE ", an awareness initiative for ZERO WASTE Or waste management at source. 

Now, in Journey to Roots, she aims to create a slow, gradual, but a permanent positive change in the world. She began with जरूरत  and रसोई, The former is about reusing unused things at well to do Households and distributing them to the unprivileged whereas the latter is about reducing social inequality by using Interdining as a means to sensitise people towards class inequality. Tagging along is also her environment awareness initiative called प्रक्रृती  Or journey to jungle where walks are organized around biodiversity spots near agra. Addition to it is "JOURNEY TO RUINS", which is bringing people's attention to lost heritage. One of her most interesting ventures is शिक्षा , it is to introduce unprivileged kids to artistic Jewels and literary behemoths, teaching the difference between a कविता and a कहानी. 



Besides all this, she conducts a monthly meet of diverse people called" Guftgoo." A very unique concept in itself, where any age group finds a non-judgemental open space to share their experiences, life stories, passion and art. 


Atmiye is doing a great deal by simply shifting paradigm towards our very own city, From a thought "AGRA MEIN YE  NAHI HAI." to "How wonderful this place was and it can be" as she herself had found it when she returned here. 

 She is a great source of motivation for all of us, she wants the youth to realise it's special powers and be more. Her journey has been going on for 8 years and she is still incandescent enough to do more. So let us all learn from this altruistic person the value of small steps an begin.

 S.P.A.  ( stories of people of agra )  Conducted by Agra aur hum . And the winner for MarsShot campaign 2020 is Dolly Aswani.  She is a social activist and the winner of the prestigious Marsshot campaign. She works in vivid fields of society across a plethora of sections ranging from women empowerment, sexual abuse awareness, menstrual hygiene, she has got it all covered. Her gunshot for this race against social ills was sounded at Banasthali University where she started working for the Women Empowerment Cell of her college After completing her  B. Tech from the university she chose the most obvious path for any engineer of not doing engineering 😉, rather joining a Delhi based NGO as it's Operational manager, working her way across various organizations and schools she has constantly been at her toes to get things going for the society. Stories Of People Of Agra ; Syed Faiz Ali Shah

Syed Faiz Ali Shah, the 40th descendant of Hazrat Muhammad ( PBHM) .  He has substantially followed the legacy of his ancestors in carrying forward the essence of sufism. Sufism is as old as several other diverse cultures prevalent in the City Of Taj - Agra. It is an ancient culture that is still followed by religious people with devotion. He told us the articulate insight of sufism, the core of which is Tasawwuf - "raah jo apne sudhar aur adhyatm ki taraf le jaye" meaning "a path that leads to our betterment". He then narrated about the durgah of Hazrat Amjad Ali Shah Azhar Akbarabadi and Maikash Akbarabadi (1902-1993). This durgah is popularly known as: Dargah Panja Madrsa .  Syed Muhammad Ali Shah 'Maikash' Qadri Niazi was a scholar of Arabic, Pershian and Urdu.
